Loving it so far. I didn’t know I could even print text documents and images (in low-medium quality monochrome, mind you) right from my computer’s regular programs without special receipt software, after installing the driver of course. All you have to do is figure out the page size and margins and such, available in the manual and online. Some programs like Excel are a little tricky. This makes it easy to print bits of information clearly without wasting a lot of paper. It’s not fussy like a lot of regular printers. I just unplug it from one place and plug it into the other, wait a few seconds to hear the paper adjusting sound and the computer to recognize it, and print.
Tons of customization settings for specific needs that come with its own program, this has been a huge difference compared to our last which required you to dig around to even have a hope to adjust things
A fast 300mm/second entry-level thermal POS receipt printer, the TSP654II offers versatility at all levels with a range of connection options for EPOS and mPOS including Ethernet, low cost WiFi and Star WebPRNT interface.
The procedures for connecting the host device to the TM-P60 using Bluetooth are detailed below. The TM-P60 uses SSP (Serial Communication Protocol) to create the Bluetooth connection. Both a Bluetooth-compatible PDA and a Windows based computer are used as examples for connecting an EpsonTM-P60 via Bluetooth. In order to print, you must install a printer application on the PDA or computer.

This incompatibility exists between Java 9 and the POS printers, so OCLC unfortunately is not able to make changes to WMS to remedy the issue. Until the POS printer manufacturers release new versions of the printer drivers that support Java 9, workstations that install this Java version will not be able to print receipts using a POS printer (NOTE: this applies to both the applet and the downloaded POS printer application). We have reached out to several printer manufacturers to make them aware of this problem but have not received any timeline for updated drivers”.
This was the printer recommended to us by OCLC, WorldShare Management Systems in 2012. As a library, we need a printer that is compatible with Java. The Epson TM-T88V receipt printer functions great…as long as Java is not updated. Whenever Java is updated, we have to have our IT department spend hours getting it to work for us once again. However, I believe this is not just an issue with Epson printers. I would challenge Epson to be the first to resolve the issue…then they will still be the receipt printer recommended to libraries throughout the world. Otherwise another company will take the forefront. Here’s what our worldwide library system has told us:
To adjust to front load and top load, you take the two covers off, and then you switch it. One of the sides has little rubber feet, so if you move that. And then you replace the second cover, now you’re in a top load version.

You can’t beat the TM-T88 series of printers. The serial version work great to swap out older nonfunctional models on our Aloha POS that need to be sent off for re-manufacturing (never throw one of these away, they can be rebuilt for $80-$100). Love the modular connection cards, if you need eithernet connection down the road just replace the card in the bottom. Make sure you set the dipswitches correctly to work with whatever POS system you are using. They are located in the bottom of the unit under the small silver panel secured with a phillips head screw.

So the TM-T20 II has about a thirty percent increase in print speed verse the previous model when printing receipts. Has a pretty good print speed and auto-cutter, it has the variable size font, it can print graphics, it can print barcodes, a good all-around print speed. The print speed is adequate compared to receipt printers from about 5 or 6 years ago, it’s as fast as any of them. Compared to the top receipt printers like the Epson TM-T885, it’s a bit slower, but unless you’re like a grocery store or a very high volume retail establishment, you probably don’t need maximum print speed- 200 millimeters per second is going to be fast enough.
Now you can speed customer throughput with the TM-T88V printer. It prints both receipts and graphics at the same high speed of up to 300mm per second – 50% faster than the TM-T88IV. And it’s the first printer in the industry to offer 16 levels of grayscale to ensure clear, crisp graphics.
