Started out problematic. Used with Square stand, had issues with connectivity, paper cutting, and printing gibberish. Updated printer- couldn’t tell any difference. BUT then Square had an update and it has since worked very well. Matches the Square stand which apparently is a big deal with my spouse and customers like it too.

Epson wants you to get the most out of your hardware and built the TM-T88V to last. The autocutter is rated to 2 million cuts, and the mean time between failure is a staggeringly high 360,000 hours (about 41 years of use). Improved cover design adds protection against foreign objects, further extending the receipt printer’s longevity. With an industry leading 4 year warranty, the TM-T88V Epson receipt printer is the last printer you’ll need for quite some time.

Epson’s main strength is its compact, energy saving and high precision technologies that it has acquired and developed over the years. The same applies to Epson’s TM series of thermal receipt printers where Epson has refined its original printer mechanisms and technologies to create products that are distinct from those of competitors such as Star, Bixolon, Citizen and SII. As part of its efforts to maintain its market leadership, Epson has also developed its original ESC/Pos command language for receipt printers.
Hi this is Travis with POSGuys.com. Today we’re taking a relook at a video we created a couple years ago. This is the TM-T88V and this is the new version of the T20 ReadyPrint, the T202 or T20II however you want to call it. The print speed has been increased on this but also some internal changing has been done on the printer. The printer can print a lot faster than it used to be. Take a look at our older video where we compared the print speed from the 88V to the original T20. You can see a significant slow down whenever this had to print heavy graphics. So in that original video there was like a black bar that would print every other line and that black bar really caused this printer to slow down. The T20II has been upgraded so that is no longer the case. The speed prints like you would expect it to print which is slower than the 88V but not significantly slower.
The Kitchen Buzzer connects directly the RJ11 port on the back of the printer. The buzzer sounds when a print job is sent to the TSP654SK. This is beneficial for high noise environments like kitchens to alert cooks that orders have been sent.
The Bluetooth is horrendous! It lags at best and at times does not print. I want to break it at times when we are busy like last night and previous nights. Yes it may be worth 4/5 stars if connected directly but I do not have that option with my Uber tablet! I should have listened to other reviews! At times it is faster to manually enter orders than it is to wait for this thing to print! This is a warning and if you are planning to use this with Bluetooth Do Not Buy!!!
As a result of these efforts, Epson receipt printers have become a global standard. Sold throughout the world, the company’s miniprinters have been highly evaluated by customers with sales now surpassing 300 million units.
With the operating system capable of automatically switching from a hose application to the PassPRNT application, a simple and user friendly “one-tap” request to print from any iPad®, iPhone®, iPod Touch®, or Android™ device to a Star Bluetooth printer is now possible. Star Micronics PassPRNT is now available on the App Store and Google Play.

Always leading, Always innovating, the TSP654II AirPrint allows the Apple user to continue with the familiar AirPrint experience they are accustomed to when using their Apple iOS® POS system. In addition, receipt printing requires no extra configurations, software or additional drivers.
The Mobile Power Supply allows users to put the TSP650 into vehicle applications like printing law enforcement tickets, truck tickets, and more. It converts 12VDC into the required 24VDC to power the printer.
For ISVs, this is the easiest and fastest way to integrate a printer with Apple software. Now with the TSP654II developers have another option available, in addition to the StarPRNT SDK, giving them more flexible printer control. Star Micronics’ TSP650II AirPrint will soon be on Apple’s AirPrint certified devices list.

Works as advertised. No on/off switch. It instantly wakes up when I run the Square register app on our IPAD Air 2 POS with the Square stand. The printing is fast and easily readable. It is very nice when the combination of products (I.E. Square Stand, Square Register, IPAD Air 2 and this printer) works so well together.
We were hesitant about getting this printer since it did not have an Off switch but so far that hasn’t been an issue since the printer itself hasn’t had the same errors we’ve been experiencing with an old receipt printer we were using without much success before.
I need to print 2 copies of our receipts. This printer does not allow you to change those settings. I was told the “lower end” models dont allow you to. I did not realize I was purchasing a “lower end” printer.

Spent over an hour with the manufacturers help line but could not get to work with the UPS software. The issue was the barcode lines were not smooth enough to be read by a barcode scanner. Finally rented a unit from UPS by the month. Going to still try this unit for USPS shipping labels. Will say the person on the help line made a valiant effort trying to fix the issue though.

POSMaid is wonderful for a small business or Craft Show use. It is affordable and very functional. Allows for all monetary transactions and keeps tally. It is perfect for Entry level use. The inventory control is more than I expected.
This is an awesome printer if you know what you are ordering. Most of the Negative reviews are because people don’t know what they are ordering. This is a printer with a POWER PLUS USB connection, It needs a special cable that when connected to the computer powers the printer and transmits to the PC through one cable. Which means you don’t need to use an extra power slot for the printer which is really nice, however the computer you connect it to needs a special card that has 24V Powered USB ports for it to plug into. Granted for some reason the Epson Powered USB cables are difficult to find. you can search for Epson Powered USB Cable here on amazon (Ignore the pictures because they all seem to use a regular usb cable picture but if it says Epson powered usb cable and it’s over $30 then chances are it’s what you want). Probably won’t find one with Prime shipping though. But the versatility of this printer is nice in that you can also use a regular power supply and regular USB cable with it if you need to. (You would have to buy the PS180 power supply and the regular printer usb cable separately).. The printer itself is very fast and crisp clean printing.
I think these are THE STANDARD of Credit card/chit printers in the retail industry. I have some of the TM-88 IV (predecessors to this model) still in use after 10+ years. You can’t go wrong with an Epson TM printer. For a bit of background, I manage the IT for 60 hotels across the US and we use them at all of our front desk workstations and point of sale terminals.
This was the printer recommended to us by OCLC, WorldShare Management Systems in 2012. As a library, we need a printer that is compatible with Java. The Epson TM-T88V receipt printer functions great…as long as Java is not updated. Whenever Java is updated, we have to have our IT department spend hours getting it to work for us once again. However, I believe this is not just an issue with Epson printers. I would challenge Epson to be the first to resolve the issue…then they will still be the receipt printer recommended to libraries throughout the world. Otherwise another company will take the forefront. Here’s what our worldwide library system has told us:
2. While holding down the FEED button, turn on the printer using the switch on the top front of the printer. The self test prints the printer settings and then prints the following, cuts the paper, and pauses.
The print head on the TM- T88V is 50% faster than the TM-T88IV, giving you 11.8″ per second of printing speed. Thermal Head : Thermal head has been cleaned and tested for quality. Self test 1,2 and a …
