I bought this printer to go along with my square stand as a second printer for use in my soda shop. I already had one of these units and it has performed very well over the last 2 months, Easiest printer to change paper i have ever had and prints very quickly and easy to read.
Other Thoughts: One improvement to make it even more portable, would be to have a completely wireless model which would recharge, rather than needing to be plugged into mains. When selling at outdoor events, I do not always have access to a power outlet. My Point-of-sale equipment has battery life enough to get me through a whole day without a recharge, so it would be nice if my receipt printer could do the same.
With your choice of one or two under till media slots, the Series 4000 makes safely storing receipts, large bills, or other important media a snap. The spacious heavy duty till features coated bill stays and stronger than average dividers, so you can be sure your money stays put.
If you use Square Payments, you’ll need a Square receipt printer. Sure. Your customer can get a receipt on their phone. But a printed receipt makes you look more professional. Also your customers will feel better about their purchase. If you’re a food truck or restaurant, you’ll want a receipt printer for the customer and also a way to print a ticket for the kitchen. For those in a hurry here are 3 receipt printers to consider below. They are the Star Micronics SM-T300, Star Micronics TSP143 and the Star Micronics SM-S230i.
The printer comes with a nominal sized roll of paper and virtually no information on where to get paper rolls. It does seem. however, that this is pretty standard stuff. The only issue I had on Amazon was that I could not find a quantity less than 50 rolls. I won’t use that much paper in 10 years. I did find a 10 roll pack at Staples and ordered that.
As with pretty much any device these days, you get a variety of options with a receipt printer – there are of course the very basic ones that just print receipts as well as more complex models that have features like Bluetooth connectivity and can connect to mobile devices.
PayPal Here is a mobile payment solution that includes an app and a thumb-sized card reader for iPhone, Android or iPad device. PayPal mobile POS accepts multiple forms of payment – credit cards, debit cards, checks, invoicing, and PayPal payments.
Because having your funds withheld or your account frozen is more common when using a mobile card processor (the risk of fraud is considered greater), merchants looking for a payment-processing solution that’s less prone to these glitches may want to consider traditional credit card processing companies that also offer mobile solutions for business.
Want to use your iPhone as a point-of-sale (POS) system for your business? Getting started is easy, and processing transactions isn’t rocket science either. But with the plethora of mobile credit card processors available, the biggest challenge is choosing which one is right for your business.
Mobile Printer, US, 2″ width, MFi Certified, Bluetooth. Works with Apple iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod), Android, and Windows. Includes charger, battery pack, serial cable, belt clip, and sample receipt paper roll. Also known as SM-S220i-DB40.
I’m really disapointed at the state of it, as I mentioned I’ll call support, but unfortunately because of all the tests I had to do prior we’ve run out of the original sample roll of paper that was included and now I need to buy more before I would even bother to call your support and diganose it “one on one”. The state of your support document also speaks to the what the experience will be via phone and I’m not looking forward to it.
The power cord cleverly mounts flush under the base and faces either right or left, depending upon your choice. It stays in place as the base rotates. The charger keeps the iPad trickle charged to 100 percent and also acts as the main power source when plugged in, saving your battery.

The primary differences between these printers are their print speed and interface options. Before you decide which printer to purchase, consider the volume of receipts you plan on printing and how you will be connecting your receipt printer, as well as if you need any additional features. Star is also the primary brand compatible with iPad point of sale, so if you’re planning on using an iPad, see below for which models are compatible with which point of sale software. This is the answer for vendors at Farmer’s Markets, craft shows, etc. Armed with the Paypal app , this receipt printer and a cash drawer that opens with a signal from the printer and a Goal Zero Yeti 400 I can run all day print receipts, kick the cash drawer AND run a 12V and a USB fan for a little air movement on 20% of the battery pack’s capacity. Blue tooth synching has worked every time, turn on the printer, open the iPad, open the app and, voila, there it is. The printer connects immediately upon waking the iPad during a lull in the action. This will add a level of professionalism to your booth, makes you look like a serious vendor.

I have two users using windows 7 sp1. These systems can no longer connect to the shared printer. I can locate the printer on them and then it starts to install and then gives an error 0x00000006. I have been trying all day to get these two windows 7 stations to actually connect to the shared printer on the windows 10 1803 machine.
There are 3 major functions – auto play slideshow, loop play video show, web page mode (convert your web site into an App-like application). You can also use it as a Tablet POS(Point Of Sale) Kit. The…
Got this so I could print receipts for my customers paying in person with a card, chip or smartphone. I use PayPal Now with an Android tablet and PayPal card reader. The printer was easy to set up and works very well. The only thing I have not been able to do is print my company logo at the top of the slip. However, the company name, address, phone number, and email prints. I think this is a function, and thus a problem of PayPal, not the printer. So I’m not blaming the printer at all. However, it would be nice to have my logo on the receipt and the ability to print a coupon or something too.

I bought a Square Stand and contactless chip reader to use at craft shows and other events that don’t always have access to electricity. I understand that the stand can draw power from my iPad, but I don’t know if that will last for an 8 hour show. Has anyone used the stand without it being plugged in? How long did it last?

Sturdy, good battery, good-looking receipts, very portable and adaptable as it uses Bluetooth. (Oddly, it also has an old-fashioned serial port for hard-wiring, rather than USB.) Unfortunately, at least with Shopify, there is about a 10-second delay from the sale until it starts printing the receipt. It’s at least 5 seconds too long as you awkwardly wait with the customer for their receipt. It uses small paper rolls that don’t last very long and are extremely difficult to find (online only). The other con is that like most receipt printers, it’s quite expensive for what it does.

This unit worked very well out of the box. Yes, it would have been nice to find instructions, or even a url for where to find the manual, but some kind souls have posted about that in the q&a, so no biggie. But yesterday I plugged it in to charge, after. It using it for a couple of weeks, and no joy. The unit shows no sign of life at. I have removed the battery, checked and wiped the connections, etc etc. The return window closed 26 days ago so looks like I’m screwed 🙁 I’m dismayed to have spent $295 (including taxes) for a paperweight, and not sure what to do next. 😩
Like most mobile payment processors, PayPal Here lets merchants accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. In addition to accepting cards, merchants can record and track cash payments through the app, making accounting easier.

Also, it seems receipts are either just electronic or traditional. I think it’d be useful for there to be an option before the card is charged. Some people do not need a printed receipt and it can be a waste of paper! So after hitting charge, Square asks “Electronic or Paper” and then either prints a paper receipt or carries through with the regular electronic process.
