My USB receipt printer was working just fine and suddenly it stopped. I restarted the software, the app, and the printer, and nothing. I deleted and re-added the Square POS app. I’ve even tried a new printer, and nothing works. When I try setting up a new printer station in the app, no printers are listed as connected–it simply says “station disabled.” I’m not sure what else to try at this point, and I have not been able to get Square support over the phone nor have they responded to my email inquiry.
I purchased this printer as a compliment for Square Register, it works beautifully! There is almost no setup, I plugged it into the USB hub provided with Square Register, went into setup on the register and it recognized it immediately. Printed the test page and then printed a transaction, super easy. I highly recommend this printer if you’re a Square Register user. I’ll be buying more as we continue to expand our business.
Really solid receipt printer. Less expensive than 90% of the machines in its class, but it holds its own without an issue. Installation was slightly more involved than other reviewers had let on (it helps to know which port you’re connecting this through), but overall it was still pretty simple to get working. Just make sure that you don’t have an old version of the Epson receipt print driver on your computer, as this can cause the installation to fail.

If you own a food-truck, this is perfect for you. It’s been a life saver! No more need for buying ticket books and writing down orders. When you pair this with Square, it’s a match made in heaven. The battery lasts for about 8 hours on a single charge. And in case of emergency, a 1 hour charge will last about 4 hours.

We bought this thermal printer for work. It works well as described, but there are some programs that don’t use the printer, and setting up the printer is less than intuitive/easy for the average user. I had to go into advanced settings and follow advice on forums to get it to function the right way.

Thanks for your offer to look into this and the possibility of finding it in Canada. Now I’m thinking a Bluetooth printer wouldn’t be so bad. I assume I could get a second one at some point to work in our kitchen (no grease or anything like that). Wouldn’t mind help on finding out how much the printer is, cost to ship, etc. Would yo mind? Thanks. John

Good Printer at the right price. It did not work initially with the supplied driver – but the support team worked non stop on the problem until it was fixed. It took a few days to get it up and running, but as I said the support team went over and above what was needed to get the problem solved and us up and running. It is a well made printer, should last a long time.

Square, that small white magnetic stripe card reader you see all over on iPads and smartphones, can make it easy to turn your smartphone or tablet into a portable point of sale station. Figuring out everything you need to set it up and use it, however, can be confusing. In this Square for Android Basics article, we talk about everything you need to know about using Square with an Android device. We’ll go over:
Square is not interested in using anyone but Star. And their attitude is that they frankly don’t care. I know, I have emails from them about it. If I was to guess, I would bet they have a deal with Star that funds their (insert pizza parties, to silk pockets). But lets be realistic. I mean it has to be something viable, right? The fact that Star uses the same print protocals that Epson uses has no bearing on an Epson receipt printer not working. It goes in the same line as Android devices can’t use bluetooth devices… although that new chip reader is bluetooth. It is a lack of customer service and they need to step up to the plate, or someone is going to come along and take their business away from them.
Apple MFi Certified Bluetooth Interface Enables wireless printing from mobile devices via Apple MFi certified Bluetooth interface. Dual chip Bluetooth Supports all iDevices such as iPad®, iPhone®, and iPod touch® in addition to all Android and Windows devices.
Item was delivered on time. I really like it except. It seems to have some kind of sleep mode when not in use and I have to runs it off and on. I needed to return this because it started acting up and my return time expires on Saturday the we th and today is just the 26th
An entry-level Ethernet version of the popular TSP100 futurePRNT printer. Ethernet is the connection method of choice for hospitality and retail environments requiring fast, long distance, reliable communication. However, this extremely flexible choice of connection has always come at a cost. This is no longer the case, the TSP143LAN is the world’s first dedicated Ethernet receipt printer available at virtually entry-level pricing.
Reliable product. It configures with Square register and Ipad stand. I already had a pair with my original POS square system. When I went to get another for my other store location I got the same product as it worked well and pairs well with square. If it works don’t fix it, so I got the same again.
I’ve been trying to set up a POS for when I set up at shows to take credit card payments using Paypal Here. I’ve been piecemealing a system together on the (relatively) cheap compared to the big money Paypal wants for a system. I have a Samsung Tab A Android tablet, the paypal here chip reader and I’ve been stuck on the printer. I tried a cheaper $56 bluetooth printer other people have got to work with paypal, but for the life of me I couldn’t get it to change the bluetooth name and NO ONE was willing to post good instructions. I bought this one for $119 which is 1/2 the price of the Star printers. As usual for these imported items the instructions on the included CD are hard to follow. I did get this to print from paypal here. Since no one was willing to post step-by-step instructions under those other printers, I’ll post below what I did to get it paired and working with my android tablet. Your mileage may vary, but this is what worked for me.
Though we are only able to guarantee that our supported printers will work with the Square register app, I definitely understand how that cost could be an issue. As the Square Register has the ability to print more than just receipts, such a kitchen tickets and order stubs, we are only able to support certain printers at this time.
The Kitchen Buzzer connects directly the RJ11 port on the back of the printer. The buzzer sounds when a print job is sent to the TSP100. This is beneficial for high noise environments like kitchens to alert cooks that orders have been sent.
The convenience of having a receipt printer that can clip onto a belt and connect through bluetooth is what sold me on this printer and is why I have continued to use it outside every day for well over a year now. We use it outside on a daily basis with it sometimes printing anywhere from 100-200 receipts an hour. I’ve had no issues with it overheating in the sun or any major IT issues. However, I do wish Espon would make the following improvements:
Sorry to hear about the trouble with your Star Micronics printers, @FrankHBC. Please give these printer troubleshooting tips a run-through as they usually resolve any issues right away. If those don’t help, please let our Support Team know — they’ll take a closer look.
Star introduces an intelligent interface for the TSP650, TSP700, and TSP800 series of thermal printers, as well as the SP700 series of impact printers, that enables them to receive receipts and orders direct from cloud printing services.
First one we got was dead. Customer service is almost non-existent. Packaged it up and paid to ship back to repair center. Several weeks went by with no feedback, then received back the exact packaging with no note or anything to indicate what the issue was, or if it had even been fixed. It seems it has, but that process was a pain. Now it doesn’t like to stay visible on the network so we are always either re-booting or just telling people it’s broken. Turns out people don’t care all that much about paper receipts anyway. Recommend purchasing directly through Square if you really need it. At least then you might get some tech support.
Hi, thanks. I have done all that. You app searches for the printer and then after a few seconds comes up as not found. It is already connected to my phone, and works with the manufacturers demo software. Your app doesn’t allow entry of ip address or any other settings. Just a search. Not happy. Have resorted to using one of your competitors that just works. Not only can I update my items for sale on my computer, but the Bluetooth printer works perfectly and more importantly without any hassle. It’s your app!

Your POS supports USB, and in the @Kpay’s original message there is even mention of a few USB interface printers. However your “Supported Hardware for iPads” document only breaks down printers between “Ethernet” and “Bluetooth” interfaces and only contains a single mention of “USB” for the “Vasario Cash Drawer”.
