I used this with an IPad with the Heckler Windfall stand on an APG cash drawer. I was able to hook up the APG cash drawer directly to this printer, and then used the IPad Bluetooth to communicate with the printer. Works like a charm, never an issue with jamming either. I am using the Square POS app. Plus there isn’t a delay when printing a receipt with the bluetooth.

This product worked well the first 4 weeks with the Square POS and the past few days the printer has not been printing continuously. The iPad states, “Printer Error” and the printer must be shut off and paper drawer opened up and turned back on again. There are NO returns on this item through Amazon so buyers please be aware. I am in the process of working directly with Star Micronics.

Affordable – This easy-to-use model is Epson’s most affordable PoS receipt printer. The TM-T20II PoS Receipt Printer has an 80mm printing width and the Automatic Paper Reduction feature reduces top and bottom margins, line feed width and bar code height, allowing for flexible receipt printing. This monitors and controls the amount of paper used. Paper costs are minimised by printing the top logo of the next receipt before cutting, so the top margin is further reduced by 12mm.

Good Low cost printer, we have two of these in our restaurant connected to via USB to our Square Stands, this model is plug and play compatible with Square Stand via USB now that Square has updated their software. The only potential negative is that this model like most EPSON POS printers uses a large power adapter with a proprietary epson connector at one end, a large brick then a standard ac plug at the other end, this just means that wiring will be a little messier unless you can route all that under your counter like we did.

So in the scheme of “would we buy these printers?” it comes down to would we buy these instead of other Epson printers? I would probably recommend the T20II the most out of all the printers, I think for the price and features and warranty, the T20II is your best bet. If you are worried about space though, take a look at the M series, especially the M10, it’s very very small compared to older receipt printers. The styling on both of these are better than the T20II. If you’re looking for just pure performance, pure reliability, pure speed, the T88V is still your best bet. So that’s kind of the Epson overview of all their printers. Good printers, probably at this time not their best printers, but they are space saving options, and there are some unique pairing capabilities, so if you’re on a tablet or something like that and you don’t have a USB port, then take a look and see if a proper interface is available for you. Said Bluetooth in the description and it is not. Bought specificity for that feature. My business(restaurants) buys a lot of equipment like this and by the time I found out it’s not what was described I was unable to return. Will not purchase from this vendor again.
The only troubleshooting I had to do after, occurred after a Windows update. The port the 2nd starmicronics entry in Printers and Devices had changed port numbers. I just repeated step 6 and then made the 2nd starmicronics entry in printers and devices match that of the entry that is auto installed when you pair the printer the first time and I was golden. I’ve rebooted numerous times since then and it has retained the port.

With the printer hardware set up, connect the printer to ShopKeep to start using it at the register. Before continuing, make sure the iPad is connected to the Wi-Fi network of the router that’s linked to the printer.
These printers aesthetically match up really well with a mobile type of set up. So if you’re using an iPad, a Surface tablet, you have a small stand and you’re using a very compact set-up with a very small cash drawer, then these are kind of designed to meet that look, and are very space-saving. The LED lights are also changed from like a traditional green to being a glowing blue, so much more modern looking receipt printers than you see traditionally. Interface-wise, these both have USB. They’re also available with Bluetooth or Ethernet, and then NFC is also in an available connection, at least coming soon to them.
Drivers Available Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows® XP 32 Bit, Vista 32/64 Bit, Windows 7 32/64 Bit, Server 2008 32/64 Bit, XP Embedded, POSReady 2009, OPOS™, JavaPOS™, USB Vendor Class, Linux™, Mac OS X, StarIO SDK with support for iOS and Android
The brand NEW addition to our TSP100 line, the TSP143III is twice as fast and includes a new easy setup technology for effortless connection to your tablet. That paired with the new de-curl function and “drop-in & print” paper loading makes the TSP143III the best POS printer on the market.
i can’t believe this printer costs ~$150! i would expect something that works this well to cost at least twice as much (as many other options do). i can’t recommend this thermal printer highly enough!
