Buyer beware – not that the product itself is bad, it’s fine HOWEVER they fail (as does Square) to mention that this USB printer cannot be used as a chit printer. SO if you are buying this set up for a restaurant and thought it could be a bar station and print both receipts for the bartender..and bar orders…it can not it does not show up on the Square network only on the specific device it is USB connected to. If you are not using remote printing at all, and just need receipts from one terminal.. it is totally fine.

Nothing in the world couldn’t work out any better than this product. Prints super fast! FYI, don’t expect to have the POS/esc commands in the manual because it tells you that it’s not open to the public but not like google can’t fix that.

I spent years in jobs that included lots of cash handling. This cash drawer is the nicest I’ve seen. It’s solid build will last for years and its finish is just lovely. It triggers cleanly and the drawer all but shoots out when triggered. I’m very pleased.
Can you comment more on the fiddle WiFi connection? Have had the printer for 5 months for my daughter’s Pixel 2 XL and have not been able to get it to connect at all. Stays on ‘connecting’… works with my wife’s Galaxy Note 5… Kodak offers no customer support or info… can’t believe you recommended it. Maybe if I could see a pic would change my mind – help!

Purchased this item OCT 2014. Fast printing and compatible with Microsoft POS 2.0. It’s a reliable receipt printer that power on 16 hrs / day and 7 days / a week at my liquor store. I would buy it again if needed for my other business.
These printers aesthetically match up really well with a mobile type of set up. So if you’re using an iPad, a Surface tablet, you have a small stand and you’re using a very compact set-up with a very small cash drawer, then these are kind of designed to meet that look, and are very space-saving. The LED lights are also changed from like a traditional green to being a glowing blue, so much more modern looking receipt printers than you see traditionally. Interface-wise, these both have USB. They’re also available with Bluetooth or Ethernet, and then NFC is also in an available connection, at least coming soon to them.
The SP700 also supports Star’s cloudPRNT communication protocol that sends print jobs directly to the printer through the cloud. This fast, two-color printer offers crisp, easy-to-read type for quick viewing, and will automatically print orders as they are placed through an online ordering application.

With dedicated photo printers, almost any inkjet or thermal dye printer will at least match the output quality you’ll typically see in drugstore prints. ZINK technology is currently limited to printers with either a 2-by-3- or 4-by-6-inch print size, and offers lower-quality output, which is best described as good enough for photos that will wind up in a wallet or behind a refrigerator magnet. Whatever printer you’re considering, be sure to check on the output quality before buying.
We recentely purchased the epson m10 bluetooth model which is listed as one of your supported bluetooth models here. However, when we follow the steps to connect the printer as listed here Square does not recognize the printer. I’ve updated square to its most current release but it says that Point of Sale only supports 3 Star Micronics models (SM-S220i, SM-T300i, and SM-TSP65411, which also ignores the S230 and mPop listed on the supported hardware page)

Hi @384f8d64c77e5048c202661b78d018ae:disqus , I think that’s just a worker thread waiting to be interrupted by the user (when he click the send button). It analyzes the structure of the data to be printed by bytes and check for delimeter, etc… Anyone out there got better explanation? 🙂
I really hope this comes back soon, as we have an Epson TM-T20II that we would love to use with our Square POS but we currently have it connected to a computer. Do you think you will be adding more printers in the near future as well?
