Atm it’s cheaper for me to use something else other than square, than to change the printer tablet setup. It appears other people have similar issues. Square managment need to grasp the economics here of only catering to a small hardware segment(Star printers) of the market, while marketing themselves as a simple DIY eftpos POS for small businesses, who burn themselves on compatability issues. Hopefully Square can solve this issue.
The SM-T300i portable mobile Bluetooth thermal receipt printer is approved by Apple, Inc. through MFi certificationfor use with the iPod Touch®, iPhone® and iPad®. In addition to its ability to pair with iOS, Android and other popular mobile platforms, the SM-T300i has easy drop in & print paper loading, a reliable and quick print speed of 75mm per second, and an intuitive LCD display.

I have a Star Micronics TSP100 Trueprint USB printer and the Squarestand.  When I plug the printer into the USB block connected to the square stand, it is not recognized by the square register software.

The Star Micronics TSP143IIU is a POS thermal printer that is designed for commercial applications such as billing, labeling, and ticketing. Thanks to the compact design of this Star Micronics printer, it occupies very little room space, whilst providing optimum functionality. The Star Micronics TSP143IIU printer, with its 203 dpi resolution, yields labels with superb colors, finish and rich quality. Additionally, with a printing speed of 5.91-inch per second, this POS thermal printer ensures that the printing task is done quickly. A USB port on it lets you transfer data to this Star Micronics printer and the host computer at high speeds.
VERY EASY. As soon as it was plugged in to the wall, the iPad & the cash drawer, it worked! We did not need to download anything – just plug & go. We will be using this on the go – so it was nice to not need to plug in to Ethernet. Very happy. Also, less expensive to buy piece by piece than the whole set. We bought the following cash drawer to accompany the printer: PARTYSAVING Point of Sales/Cash 12V Drawer Register Metal RJ-11 Key-Lock W/ Bill & Movable Coin Trays APL1304, Black
You can download Drivers, Development Kit, Utilities and Manuals for Epson Business System Products such as TM Series (POS printers, Label printers, Slip printers, Mobile printers, Check Scanners), DM Series (Customer Displays), IM/IR/SR/MR Series (POS Terminals) and EU/BA Series (Embedded Unit).
Wall Mountable   Need more counter space? Create more room by mounting the printer to the wall. The futurePRNT Configuration Utility allows for Text Reversal so the receipt is printed to face the user.
Check your network – Make sure the iPad and printer are on the same network.   Turn the printer off and back on again.  Make sure it is connected to the network.   Close all apps on the iPad.  Relaunch square and see if it works.  May want to restart your iPad too.  If that doesn’t work. open up notes and see if you can print a note to the printer.  If you don’t see the printer there is a network or printer issue.   Reset your network and see if that fixes it.
Except for the problems that I had with the WiFi connection dropping between the printer and my phone, I would say that this is the easiest portable wireless printer to use and prints the best-looking prints. As long as you remember that you’ll need to buy extra printer cartridges, the KODAK Photo Printer Mini will let you have fun bringing your favorite digital prints into the physical world.
This is such a life saver!! Of course you can get a card reader from the company for free, but I wanted two of them and I could not find a better deal than this! I purchased this for business reasons but also used it at a yard sale and it worked wonderfully (and allowed for sales that would not have happened otherwise). Highly recommend!

Many other credit card processors are accused of the same thing. After all, merchants are susceptible to credit card fraud, and payment processors are generally a cautious bunch. However, as DeSimone pointed out in his review of PayPal Here, the company does seem to be a bit cautious about withholding funds and freezing accounts. Other mobile card processors, like Square, have also been accused of being overly vigilant.
★★★★★ “This just saved me so much time that I will drink a beer for your sake, and I would pay you one if I’d have the chance. Thank you so much for your work, and for sharing it, keep going with your awesome job!”
Hi, Travis from POSGuys.com. Today we’ll be reviewing the M series of printers from Epson. This is the TM-M30 and the TM-M10 receipt printers. They’re both thermal receipt printers, they’re similar form factor where they’re very square. This is the 3-inch version, this is the 2-inch version. By 3-inch version, this means this uses standard receipt printer of 3 inch width, and this uses a 2 inch, smaller receipt paper. They’re both top load or front load, this is set into front-load version, this is set in to top-load version. They print at a reasonable rate, this is an 8-inch per second, and this is a 6-inch per second. The 8-inch per second is the same as the current model TM-T20ii version, so it’s the same print speed, it’s just a much more compact form factor.

The TM-P20 is under half the size2 of our other two-inch model and around two-thirds lighter3. It benefits from fast print speeds (up to 100mm/sec) and a battery life of up to eight hours, making it ideal for busy retail staff dealing with purchases on the shop floor, restaurant staff serving at tables and for producing tickets on-board busses and trains. The device also comes with a belt clip for hands-free transport. I am still trying my best to use it. My POS system doesn’t support Star. and now I am having the common problem that I am dealing with Star tech support, they are still working on it to solve the problem, which is it doesn’t print out All Receipts bar-codes on my machine even from their own configuration utility, can’t use Receipt Flip, it doesn’t cut off the receipt automatically, doesn’t print out my full store name in every other receipt, and sometimes the receipt goes out 2 feet long. *Company Name:  *Contact Name:  *Phone:  *Email:  *Operating System:  *Interface:  *Issue:  *Which product are you experiencing difficulty with?:  *Which version of the firmware are you using?  Don’t know the firmware version you printer is using?  Click here to learn how to find out. *What is the Serial Number of your product? The Serial number is a 10 to 16 digit number located at the bottom of your printer.  *Please enter a brief one-line description of the problem But my point is that an adding machine paper-receipt looks unprofessional in some businesses.  An inexpensive ink jet or better, a multitasking network office printer that is already in use would make a LOT more sense for me.  I'm sure they are robust and work fine, they just don't suit my business and I don't like being so limited in the TYPE of printer I can use. But its solid customer service doesn't seem to make up for what some merchants view as PayPal's overly suspicious approach to fraud detection. PayPal receives a lot of negative feedback from merchants who have had their funds withheld or their accounts frozen or terminated because of suspected fraud or suspicious processing activity.  Square, that small white magnetic stripe card reader you see all over on iPads and smartphones, can make it easy to turn your smartphone or tablet into a portable point of sale station. Figuring out everything you need to set it up and use it, however, can be confusing. In this Square for Android Basics article, we talk about everything you need to know about using Square with an Android device. We'll go over: I use this with square register. Super easy setup, very nice print quality just know that it only comes with a sample roll of paper so make sure you add a larger pack with purchase. It takes 3 1/4 inch thermal paper @FrankHBC We have a similar setup with a hardwired Star SP742ML (ethernet card IFBD-HE/07/08) .  The Square app loses the connection to that printer. The iPad we use is connected via Wifi.   I suspect this is a common problem and seems to be related to the Square app because our network is up and we can verify connectivity to the printer.  Maybe we need a focus group to collaborate and share experiences. I am new to Square.  I would like to print receipts from my iPad, but the printers on the Square web site cost over $300.  I found that I could print a receipt from the web-based customer portal if I am using my PC or Mac.  However, the receipt prints on two pages since there is a small icon at the bottom that carries over to the second page.  I will have to carefully set the printer to print just one page every time I print a receipt for our event.
