In addition to being able to connect via Bluetooth, you can also use it with USB connections for even more functionality – but be warned that it doesn’t work with iOS devices and it’s unclear if it’ll work with a Mac either.
The cost of using the card processing service is fair, with a card-present discount rate of 2.7 percent and no additional transaction fees. Keyed-in credit and debit card payments are a bit pricier (due to the greater risk of fraud with card-not-present transactions) and will cost you 3.5 percent of the total sale, plus a 15-cent transaction fee. Thanks to the Star “Keep Alive” feature, the TSP134LAN can negotiate with any networked host and automatically print an error if the connection is lost due to computer/hub failure or cable damage. It also sends an immediate warning to the remote location that the printer is offline. “Real Time Status” alerts let know you when the printer’s cover is open or when it runs out of paper. And because of the TSP134LAN’s connectivity, any Mac or iPad on the network can see the printer’s status.

You don’t need to screw around with the extra settings, just turn on the cash drawer before/After print and be done. All of that coupon set up, barcode stuff on there is good but is best to use within your software development for better control but it too is useful. I use code 3-9 and scanner picks it right up for my transaction numbers. Now you do have programming options to setup the cutter and all of that but for those needing something fo there store on a quick, serve my customers base, this is by far the best and a heck of a lot cheaper that the t88 models by which I don’t see any difference by any means
Unlike traditional card processing companies, which deposit the funds from credit card and other payments directly into a merchant’s bank account, PayPal deposits merchant funds directly into a merchant’s PayPal account. As Heaven Stubblefield points out in her PayPal Here review for CompareCards.com, if you don’t use PayPal regularly, you might not appreciate the extra step of transferring funds to your bank account on a regular basis.
Emails have always been a problem for us…keeping track and sending them. With Square, they keep track of customers and I can send out a campaign in a few minutes with their templates! I can see at a glance which emails worked and who responded. I can work with the 80/20 rule and concentrate on the 20% of customers that are repeat buyers and buy 80% of my products.
The printer comes with a nominal sized roll of paper and virtually no information on where to get paper rolls. It does seem. however, that this is pretty standard stuff. The only issue I had on Amazon was that I could not find a quantity less than 50 rolls. I won’t use that much paper in 10 years. I did find a 10 roll pack at Staples and ordered that.
We have our TM-m10 connected via USB into the Square POS hub and it shows as connected within our printer station. Unfortunately though, when we print something that has text within the “Custom Text” or “Refund Policy” fields we get a string of random characters (see photo below).
This printer comes with a disk. If you are using it with an Ipad, the disk is useless. The only thing I am disappointed with at this point is that I can not print by business logo on my receipts. This is not a downfall of the printer but the program that I am using. This printer prints the business logo ‘”IF” you are using a Mac or Windows based POS system.
