It’s been about three years since I excepted credit cards. The last device I used was pogo through provident bank. Which did not work out at all. The Device made an error and it was fixed but I lost $700 in the process due to processing fees but they refused to refund me. The problem is there’s too many hands involved and they have you on the phone going in circles. The evil leader being First Data they just kept eating money out of my account and I was helpless and could not stop it. So This left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. But after working for a few years I started to lose customers because I did not except credit card so I decided if square a chance. And I started taking credit cards. I have processed roughly $11,000 in three days for deposits on jobs and some payments. I was watching my account getting ready for to be deposited. After three days nothing. Did not realize that square tried to contact me because of the large amount of transactions and they put a hold on my account. I thought to myself here we go again. They requested a list of documents and proof of identity. I thought it would take weeks for them to process it. By 12 o’clock the next day they processed it and released the funds. That impressed me. And ever since it has been great. Money is quick about 12-24 hours. So give them a shot. They deserve it.

Though we are only able to guarantee that our supported printers will work with the Square register app, I definitely understand how that cost could be an issue. As the Square Register has the ability to print more than just receipts, such a kitchen tickets and order stubs, we are only able to support certain printers at this time.
I bought this printer to work with Square Apps.on the I phone and I pad. On the I phone the square app. doesn’t have a place to add the printer. It does on the I pad and works great right out of the box. You can use 2 1/4 X 42″ thermal paper, the same size I use with my Verifone 8020, just google it When pairing with I pad the code number is 1234 as most. Doesn’t come with info, but I found the manual on posworld.com that you can download. At first tried to buy from posworld.com, ordered and waited for 3 weeks and to this day haven’t heard from them yet. Had to file a depute with DiscoverCard. Forgot about Amazon. Ordered on Monday, got it Wednesday. It will print cash or charge receipts, quickly. Now I don’t have to try typing email or text receipts. Just takes to long.
STAR MICRONICS, BUNDLE, WITH STAR TSP143L (ETHERNET) GRY RECEIPT PRINTER, APG VB320-BL1616 VASARIO CASH DRAWER AND CD-014A CABLE, FOR USE WITH IPAD, SQUARE. APG Vasario Cash Drawer BL1616. POS Keyboar…
Other Thoughts: One improvement to make it even more portable, would be to have a completely wireless model which would recharge, rather than needing to be plugged into mains. When selling at outdoor events, I do not always have access to a power outlet. My Point-of-sale equipment has battery life enough to get me through a whole day without a recharge, so it would be nice if my receipt printer could do the same.
Printer companies issues a “series” much like a car model. Jeep a different vehicles (a car series) and different models within that series. Jeep Cherokee is a car series and they have different models within the Jeep Cherokee family. TSP100 is of of Star’s printer series (like a car model) and TSP143… is the specific model. TSP143ii are current USB models and TSP143iii are the current LAN and Bluetooth models. Hope that helps. 🙂
That’s fantastic! We love to hear that you want to get more out of Square. Our software does allow you to ring in orders that can be printed for the kitchen, as well as print receipts for customers. Unfortunately, we don’t support the Star Micronics TSP64411BI printer at this time, so you would need to purchase a supported printer in order to get this all to work.
I guess if you took the thing apart and installed a new reader compatible with a different processing service… But with that level of time and expense you’re better off fabricating a new stand from scratch.
Atm it’s cheaper for me to use something else other than square, than to change the printer tablet setup. It appears other people have similar issues. Square managment need to grasp the economics here of only catering to a small hardware segment(Star printers) of the market, while marketing themselves as a simple DIY eftpos POS for small businesses, who burn themselves on compatability issues. Hopefully Square can solve this issue.

Purchased this item OCT 2014. Fast printing and compatible with Microsoft POS 2.0. It’s a reliable receipt printer that power on 16 hrs / day and 7 days / a week at my liquor store. I would buy it again if needed for my other business.
If you own a food-truck, this is perfect for you. It’s been a life saver! No more need for buying ticket books and writing down orders. When you pair this with Square, it’s a match made in heaven. The battery lasts for about 8 hours on a single charge. And in case of emergency, a 1 hour charge will last about 4 hours.
The only troubleshooting I had to do after, occurred after a Windows update. The port the 2nd starmicronics entry in Printers and Devices had changed port numbers. I just repeated step 6 and then made the 2nd starmicronics entry in printers and devices match that of the entry that is auto installed when you pair the printer the first time and I was golden. I’ve rebooted numerous times since then and it has retained the port.

I spent several hours on the phone with Star tech support trying to figure out if I did something wrong during the set up, but they said everything was installed correctly. After changing settings and trying the printer out for a couple more days, the same problems kept occurring. Eventually we decided it was a defective unit so we ordered another one. They sent us the USB printer, NOT the ethernet printer we obviously need for our restaurant. By then, we had gotten so fed up with Star I decided to return them both. When trying to return the malfunctioning ethernet printer, Amazon gave us the run around and sent us to Star, who sent us back to Amazon, who sent us to Star in a never ending paradox.
SM-S230i includes the ability to print receipts or data from a web browser-based application running on a mobile device wirelessly by configuring Star’s WebPRNT Browser. Once configured, the user simply pairs their mobile device to the SM-S230i, open the application on WebPRNT Browser and prints from the application.
Impact printers are typically the most affordable and are suited to damp environments like a kitchen but they’re a bit slower than other models. Thermal printers are fast and quiet but require toner to function, and inkjet printers are fast and give high quality prints but are generally the most expensive.

HP OfficeJet 4650 Wireless All-in-One Photo Printer, as the name suggests, is very multifunctional and hence cost-effective. It can also copy, scan, take pictures from the computer or from the smart phones, using AirPrint, WiFi, Bluetooth, App, or any other method as well. The ePrint feature allows you to print from anywhere at all. Double sided prints can also be taken so as to conserve time and paper.
Really solid receipt printer. Less expensive than 90% of the machines in its class, but it holds its own without an issue. Installation was slightly more involved than other reviewers had let on (it helps to know which port you’re connecting this through), but overall it was still pretty simple to get working. Just make sure that you don’t have an old version of the Epson receipt print driver on your computer, as this can cause the installation to fail.
ZINK™ stands for “ZERO INK” printing technology. Instead of ink, it uses colorful dye-based crystals embedded inside the paper. Before printing, the embedded dye crystals are clear so ZINK™ Paper looks like regular, white photo paper. The ZINK-enabled device uses heat to activate and colorize these crystals.

This latest addition to the TSP100 Series provides a range of new features including a high print speed of 250 mm /second, a guillotine auto cutter (cutter life 2 million cuts) as well as thin paper capability providing benefits not only for the environment but also the user’s operating costs.
Pros: Compact. Portable. Modestly priced. Low cost per print for a dedicated photo printer. Prints from Windows and Mac computers, smartphones, and tablets. Includes memory card slot and USB thumb drive port.
StarIO facilitates developers in easily designing mobile applications without complicated communication control on diverse operating systems like Windows Mobile, Windows CE, iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod) and Android
Both the Square and the app on the phone are easy to use. I just used the Square at an event, and it allowed me to take credit cards, making sales I otherwise would have missed. I love that it fits in my purse. Since I always carry a couple copies of my book around, I might use it sometime. They make pouches for it, but I’m using the plastic container that Extra gum comes in (It’s perfect: slim and durable).
I’m not sure why there are so many mixed up reviews and answers to the questions. I have two iPad without a square stand. This easily connected to my cash drawer and WiFi router. BOTH iPads are connected to the receipt printer and BOTH can print at the same time as well as open up my cash drawer. The receipt are thick enough to read and make orders off of and the font size is nice. If you take orders with your iPad but do not have a square stand and need a printer that will connect to multiply iPads this is what you are looking for!!
If you want a great little device that you can just put in your pocket and is compatible with Android devices, this one is a great option to look into. In addition to being able to connect via Bluetooth, you can also use it with USB connections for even more functionality – but be warned that it doesn’t work with iOS devices and it’s unclear if it’ll work with a Mac either.

Complete your countertop POS system with this kit. Print paper receipts, daily sales reports and summaries right from your iPad. Includes, Square reader, Star Ethernet Printer, APG 13″ Vasario Cash Drawer, drawer cable, extra 2 rolls of thermal receipt paper and installation support.
Your POS supports USB, and in the @Kpay’s original message there is even mention of a few USB interface printers. However your “Supported Hardware for iPads” document only breaks down printers between “Ethernet” and “Bluetooth” interfaces and only contains a single mention of “USB” for the “Vasario Cash Drawer”.
Hi, Travis from POSGuys.com. Today we’ll be reviewing the M series of printers from Epson. This is the TM-M30 and the TM-M10 receipt printers. They’re both thermal receipt printers, they’re similar form factor where they’re very square. This is the 3-inch version, this is the 2-inch version. By 3-inch version, this means this uses standard receipt printer of 3 inch width, and this uses a 2 inch, smaller receipt paper. They’re both top load or front load, this is set into front-load version, this is set in to top-load version. They print at a reasonable rate, this is an 8-inch per second, and this is a 6-inch per second. The 8-inch per second is the same as the current model TM-T20ii version, so it’s the same print speed, it’s just a much more compact form factor.
The SM-S220i portable receipt printer is Star’s first printer approved by Apple, Inc. The SM-S220i printer, unlike most printers, can pair via Bluetooth with the Apple iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. The SM-S220i printer has made it easier than ever to print from the Apple iOS devices that have become ubiquitous in the Point of Sale and Payment industries. The SM-S220i is a compact and light weight printer which supports 2 inch (58 mm) thermal paper. Its compact size, long battery life and Bluetooth connection makes it a welcome printer option for retail and hospitality vendors as well as payment processing vendors looking for a mobile solution. Payment processing devices can easily be attached to the SM-S220i through its accessory serial ports making the printer very adaptable for any usage scenario.
