Yep! And in fact, they’re one and the same; TSP143III is the model number of the TSP 100 (which is admittedly pretty confusing.) For example, you can see the printer has TSP100 printed on it physically, but it’s technically the ‘STAR MICRONICS TSP143IIILAN.’

Introducing Star’s new Ethernet receipt printer solution, the latest model from Star’s renowned TSP100 Series used by retailers & restaurateurs across the globe from major retailers & fast food restaurants to your local corner shop & café.
The Ethernet printers compatible with Square Point of Sale are thermal printers. They call for heat-sensitive paper and won’t work with non-thermal receipt paper. These types of printers typically aren’t excellent for kitchens or high-temperature working areas.
The TSP143IIIU includes a special feature not available anywhere else in the POS industry, printer communication and tablet charging through lighting cable connection. Removing clutter from the workspace, the lightning connection takes the Apple charger offer your table, leaving one wire for two jobs.

Thanks for your offer to look into this and the possibility of finding it in Canada. Now I’m thinking a Bluetooth printer wouldn’t be so bad. I assume I could get a second one at some point to work in our kitchen (no grease or anything like that). Wouldn’t mind help on finding out how much the printer is, cost to ship, etc. Would yo mind? Thanks. John
In your particular case, I think you have the correct printer – the Epson TM-m10 is supported with the Square Stand. When you have the receipt paper, please call our team so they can help figure out why your printer is giving you trouble. In the event that you do need to get a new USB printer, refer to the list of USB printers compatible with Square Stand.

The Squre stand has a 3 port USB hub adapter. One for the chip/ contactless reader dock, one for a printer if used but, it will charge a phone, should you be using a “Personal HotSpot. The supply chord has a standard 110V 3 prong chord. I will unpack mine soon and see if it will take power from 110 or 220V as the small wall chargers will. Phones and IPads have been charged in Europe with no problems.
Battery life is poor. I was told by an employee at Star that you can not operate this printer while plugged into AC. You can only use AC to charge the battery and then unplug it. This is a very nice nit and functions well, but you will need extra (expensive) batteries to make through a busy day.

If you use Square Payments, you’ll need a Square receipt printer. Sure. Your customer can get a receipt on their phone. But a printed receipt makes you look more professional. Also your customers will feel better about their purchase. If you’re a food truck or restaurant, you’ll want a receipt printer for the customer and also a way to print a ticket for the kitchen. For those in a hurry here are 3 receipt printers to consider below. They are the Star Micronics SM-T300, Star Micronics TSP143 and the Star Micronics SM-S230i.
If its a usb Star printer like ours, the answer is simple, the Square hub & cables suck. We’ve already replace ours once under warantee and currently are operating without our printer being active 98% of the time. If we can be bothered to unplug all the USB connections from the hub and unplug/plug the hub power back in, things will probably work for a while, but the bottomline is the cables/hub are poor and probably are shorting.
I use this with Square Register on a Samsung Galaxy Note (3 ?). Once it’s set up it plugs right into the USB On The Go adapter, app detects the printer, and I can print my customers their receipt! Very professional looking instead of just a text message or email URL, which many of our customers wouldn’t really know how to use. It seems like a high price to pay for such a small seemingly simple device but so far it appears to be a sturdy, lasting machine. A package of receipt paper lasts a long time. If things fall through it has a high resale value as opposed to some other devices (just check out eBay and Amazon used).
Can you use much cheaper printers with your Android phone than the Star – such as http://www.tomtop.com/bluetooth-irda-276/p-c2585b-us-2.html?currency=GBP&lang=en&aid=gplagb&gclid=Cj… or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/162104739480?lpid=122&chn=ps&googleloc=9045590&poi=&campaignid=628893…
Square for Android is compatible with printer driven and USB cash drawers. Printer driven cash drawers must be hooked up to a receipt printer that is compatible with Square and your Android device. We recommend considering a manual cash drawer for easiest use with Square for Android. The following cash drawers are officially compatible with Square for Android:
