It has been made with second-generation ZINK technology. “ZINK” here means “zero ink”, i.e., this photo printer doesn’t require ink cartridges, which is quite a relief! You need to print on the special ZINK paper.
That page has a column for Register and it lists out all of the compatible hardware to date. It is the most up to date and accurate list, so it’s a good idea to check it if you have to get a new printer.

As the name indicates, dedicated (also known as small-format) photo printers can print nothing but photos. They are typically limited to a maximum paper size of 2 by 3 inches, 4 by 6 inches, or 5 by 7 inches (or panoramic variations on these sizes), but the category isn’t defined just by its limits. These printers are relatively small and portable. They’re also much less computer printers than they are standalone consumer electronics products, with an emphasis on ease of use. There are few of them still on the market these days.
I was wondering if I can keep the phones connected to the printer or if I have to disconnect after printing each receipt.I thought that keeping the connection was preventing to print from more than one device at the same time.
Star Micronics SP700 impact receipt printer was built specifically to work in environments where heat and humidity can erode the type on the kitchen order. This fast, two-color printer offers crisp, easy to read type for quick viewing, clamshell design for easy paper loading and an embedded power supply for space efficiency. Interface options available include Serial, Parallel, USB, Ethernet, WebPRNT and the iOS compatible Bluetooth printer. In addition, the SP700 comes with Star’s 3-year Limited Warranty.
@CarrieZ @TopJimmy I have the same printer and the same problem. My dashboard is still saying that the device is not supported. There is no new available update in the app store as far as I can tell. C’mon people! We have been operating without a proper cash drawer for 2 weeks now 🙁
But my point is that an adding machine paper-receipt looks unprofessional in some businesses.  An inexpensive ink jet or better, a multitasking network office printer that is already in use would make a LOT more sense for me.  I’m sure they are robust and work fine, they just don’t suit my business and I don’t like being so limited in the TYPE of printer I can use.
There are 3 major functions – auto play slideshow, loop play video show, web page mode (convert your web site into an App-like application). You can also use it as a Tablet POS(Point Of Sale) Kit. The…
Able to print up to 60 receipts per minute (300 mm/sec), the TSP650II BTi offers unrivaled processing power and outstanding data throughput. Thanks to easy “drop in and print” paper loading, a small footprint, and reliable guillotine cutter, the printer is a welcome addition to any POS system.
Whisper notes. The small and cute printer is pocketable and smaller than a powder compact. Micro USB interface. Mistake printing. 1 X Thermal Paper. 1 X Colorful Thermal Paper. 1 X White Printer. 1 X …
I bought this printer when I converted my business to Square. It is awesome! Now my servers can take a small tablet to the tables, place the order and press “PRINT” and the ticket prints in the kitchen without the server needing to drop it off. Saves a lot of time and effort, especially when it’s busy!
Epson wireless printers are compatible with the Lecere FIRMS, WaiterOne, Breadcrumb, Cashy, Square and other Ethernet or wireless POS software, with driver support for Windows, Mac (TM-88V only), and iOS platforms. For information about Square Register, see here.
I’ve only had it up and running for a couple of weeks now, but it prints and cuts the receipts well and have yet to have any problems with it. Drivers disc makes setting up and installing a snap, and it comes with any/all necessary cables. It even comes with a mount for wall mounting, but in looking at it I’m not sure how you would do that or even why someone might want to 🙂
Thanks a lot. Got your point. I have installed the ZPL Designer and export PM file : its look like as ! 0 200 200 609 1 PW 575 TONE 0 SPEED 3 ON-FEED IGNORE NO-PACE BAR-SENSE T 4 0 174 33 Test Name PRINT Is this the ZPL file and please help how can i send parameters from android to that file as its need dynamic data. – Rahul Vats May 28 ’17 at 19:32
If you are setting up a larger POS application and want a multifunction printer, you need to get their cat5 version, same company…looks and acts exactly the same except is on the network, not USB…then just buy the cash drawer by itself. I have not tried the wireless printers, but the USB is not as versital and basically the same price.
First weekend using the cash register and star tsp 1000 III printer with our Square stand and iPad and so far the experience has been great. The cash register is big and roomy and not loud when it opens. Great purchase would definitely recommend buying the epsilont versus buying the one that square has to offer that is $200 more.
Hi! I have an Intermac printer, and it doesn’t accept pairing, is there a way to send the printer data, without pairing (bonding) the device, I’m trying to do it, but it promts me a message to enter the pin, and when I fail to do that it throws an exception
The printer that Square supports is one of the largest used brands in the receipt printer market.  They are not getting kickbacks on printers as the printers are sold by hundreds of places including Amazon, and the buyer doesn’t know you are buying it to print with Square as the printer is also used by 100s of other POS systems. More printer options would always be better, but as this is one of the industry standard printers it only makes sense they support it.
Hi. when i implement your code it seems that the send and close button is not working. whenever i click the sent button it has an error java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method ‘void java.io.OutputStream.write(byte[])’ on a null object reference. The open button is working. I used 2 printer. 1 thermal printer and 1 dot matrix printer and both of the printer is not working. Can you help me? thank you.
