@Kpay …Anyway, getting beyond this, can you tell me which printers you support printing to via USB? According to your “Supported Hardware for iPads” the answers is none. That’s since you list both Bluetooth and Ethernet printers in seperate lists but exclude any list for USB printers. The only mention of “USB” on the page is for a cash drawer.
This unit worked very well out of the box. Yes, it would have been nice to find instructions, or even a url for where to find the manual, but some kind souls have posted about that in the q&a, so no biggie. But yesterday I plugged it in to charge, after. It using it for a couple of weeks, and no joy. The unit shows no sign of life at. I have removed the battery, checked and wiped the connections, etc etc. The return window closed 26 days ago so looks like I’m screwed 🙁 I’m dismayed to have spent $295 (including taxes) for a paperweight, and not sure what to do next. 😩
And while PayPal’s card reader is a bit bulky compared to the competition, its extended length makes it easier to get a good swipe of a credit card every time. Not having enough surface area for a swipe is another complaint that merchants level against Square’s little white cube.

It is a simple process all I can think is that square gets a percentage of royalties from their supported printer sales and thats why they are locking everything down to these ridiculously overpriced pieces of equipment.
Receipt printer worked wonderfully with my Square checkout terminal and drawer that I also ordered off Amazon. I love that it’s thermal so you don’t have to purchase ink. It was easy to load the paper and easy to unload. All the items you need for the printer are here on Amazon so I could have it delivered directly to my workplace.
Guys, here’s the amazon link where you can buy the mobile printer http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AG2C0G8/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B01AG2C0G8&linkCode=as2&tag=codeofaninja-20&linkId=Z2FOSJPNSUWTGB6T

If you’re considering a POS system to make it more convenient for your business to manage inventory and prices, you shouldn’t look any further. For the price, you can set up a fantastic FREE POS software with all the accessories such as the stand, receipt printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, and EMV/chip reader for one upfront cost and not have to pay for your POS like some of these not so reputable POS sellers try to market to you. Even if you don’t use Square to process your cards (which is what Square truly wants you to do), the setup for a POS system with an iPad is second to none. The software gets constant updates, works flawlessly, and is FREE. I have no regrets about switching to the Square ecosystem for running my business and selling inventory. I occasionally use their card processing, but even if I didn’t, I’d still use the Square POS system and software. No regret here!
With most printer categories, you should consider whether you really need color. Photo printers turn the question on its head, so you should consider whether you need black and white, which many printers can’t handle well. The most common flaw is a tint, or different color tints for different shades of gray. If you print black and white photos, you’ll need to check out black and white photo quality apart from the printer’s color photo quality. This is more often a problem for dedicated, rather than near-dedicated, photo printers, but you need to consider it in either case. (In our reviews, we note such tints and their severity when we encounter them, but we don’t use monochrome images to test small-format printers.)
@CarrieZ @TopJimmy I have the same printer and the same problem. My dashboard is still saying that the device is not supported. There is no new available update in the app store as far as I can tell. C’mon people! We have been operating without a proper cash drawer for 2 weeks now 🙁

Ethernet invoice printers can be used to print client receipts, order tickets, and also order ticket stubs. Ethernet-interface printers are best for stationary use, and also aren’t designed to be mobile.

Bought it to print off my Square register with an iPad Air and it worked perfectly right out of the box! No driver download, no ink to mess with – plugged it in, plugged in the USB printer cable (mine WAS included) added paper, went back to previous sales and hit print receipt & a nice clean receipt slid out the top. Seems very commercial grade & well designed. This is kind of a 5 star review for both this printer and the square register since they go together so seamlessly. Very nice.
Hi. when i implement your code it seems that the send and close button is not working. whenever i click the sent button it has an error java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method ‘void java.io.OutputStream.write(byte)’ on a null object reference. The open button is working. I used 2 printer. 1 thermal printer and 1 dot matrix printer and both of the printer is not working. Can you help me? thank you.
