Purchased to use with Paypal swiper and app. This particular one is on Paypal’s approved list. I used it on an iphone and it paired quickly and it worked great. Prints really fast. When you pair it to the phone it takes you to the app store and shows you all the compatible apps.
The printer is compact, prints clearly, and has absolutely no issue when printing a receipt for my Square sales. The fact that it is blue tooth meant I could put it anywhere in my home office that was convenient and not tied down by the length of a USB cord otherwise. I have it linked up to an old iPhone 4s phone and run credit cards using Square and print receipts easily. I’m so pleased that I paid some more money and got the blue tooth version.

Trust me, if you’re here shopping for a new business and need a printer, you need a thermal receipt printer. Don’t use a regular laser or inkjet printer unless necessary for your situation. It’s awkward, slow, and wastes more resources.
The Epson TM‑m10 and TM‑m30 printers’ sleek design saves valuable counter space, while ensuring simple integration with your existing mobile or desktop POS environment, providing intuitive functionality and allowing for front or top load configurations. These point‑of‑sale printers were engineered to print receipts from virtually any mobile device or desktop PC.
Paper used (10,000 receipts printed on 80 x 300 mm each [3 inches by 11 inches], this is a conservative estimate to account for consumer copies of receipts that occur with credit card transactions) = 240,000,000 sq mm = 2,580 square feet of paper
This printer is terrible. It always has connectivity issues and it is constantly jamming. Worst mistake i made for my business. We have to keep it off until we get a customer otherwise it keeps printing no host receipts and it jams. Called star micronics they said it was probably an issue on my end. WRONG! MY other register, which is hooked up by same switch board, has an Epson printer and it gives no issues. Do not buy this printer for your business. Go with an Epson. Same amount of $, no problems.
Virtual Serial Port (USB or Ethernet). Thanks to Microsoft’s Digitally Signed Certification (WHQL), the Star SP742ML Ethernet drivers features Star’s intuitive compatibility for Microsoft applications including:
Hey @WreckBeard, I went to check on this and we don’t have an update yet. I’d suggest that you subscribe to this thread so that you’ll get a notification email as soon as developments are available. Sorry for any trouble this may be causing — keep in touch!
If you use a point of sale system in your business, you need a receipt printer – and it should definitely be a good one so that you don’t have to replace it in a few months. Receipt printers are essential in most any business today because they solve the problem of needing to conveniently print a receipt right then and there.
I like this printer very much, but only give it 4 stars because I had to search around for information on operating the printer and finding paper. That is a very small negative and likely due in part to my lack of industry knowledge. But, I do think a manual in the package would be nice or at least a link to the information on the web. A case for the printer would also be nice, but I just grabbed something I had laying around.
My client was ecstatic and so was I. Having this level of support is so refreshing and I want to say a big thank you to Epsilont. I highly recommend this company to supply your business with all it’s POS hardware.
Hi, I am trying to print an invoice using a bluetooth printer. There is no issue with the printing. The issue is the data formatting before printing. The data gets shattered in the receipt. I used Outputstream to print and passed string to that. Please do reply if there is any solution to format the data before printing.
If you’re looking for a way to accept mobile payments with your iPhone without having to actually swipe a credit card, then you’re in luck: There’s an app for that. Instead of forcing you to deal with clunky credit card readers and dongles, some credit card processing apps simply use the iPhone’s camera. This method can work in several ways, such as by capturing a photo of the credit card, scanning the credit card number or reading a quick-response (QR) code.
The Star Micronics TSP43LAN is one of the first dedicated Ethernet software-driven point-of-sale receipt printers you can set up and start using almost immediately. It makes installation easy and flexible with setup software and a simple, fast network connection that employs standard CAT 5 cabling.

If its a usb Star printer like ours, the answer is simple, the Square hub & cables suck. We’ve already replace ours once under warantee and currently are operating without our printer being active 98% of the time. If we can be bothered to unplug all the USB connections from the hub and unplug/plug the hub power back in, things will probably work for a while, but the bottomline is the cables/hub are poor and probably are shorting.
Step 12: We will code an onClickListener for the “close” button so we can close the connection to Bluetooth printer and save battery. Put the following code after the onClickListener of the “Send” button, inside onCreate() method.
The TSP100ECO electronics has been designed with an advanced power management circuitry which allows any user to reduce his printer current consumption by up to 75% compared to standard Star printers making it the most economical printer in its class. Developed with smart paper management features, the TSP100ECO is designed to minimize the environmental impact of point of sale printing.
Instead of using an article like format for your printer support, how about using a table to break down the printers with a row for each model and columns indicating features (thermal, impact, USB, ethernet, Bluetooth etc.).
Please note, these printers can only be used with iOS devices at this time. I don’t have a timeline for when they’ll be supported with Android devices yet. But I’ll report back when I have an update! 😀
