Check your network – Make sure the iPad and printer are on the same network. Turn the printer off and back on again. Make sure it is connected to the network. Close all apps on the iPad. Relaunch square and see if it works. May want to restart your iPad too. If that doesn’t work. open up notes and see if you can print a note to the printer. If you don’t see the printer there is a network or printer issue. Reset your network and see if that fixes it.
Merchants running the app on iPad 2 or later can also use PayPal Here to scan bar codes for faster checkout. Is anyone else having issues with the receipt printer not working? It was working great and it stopped to work. The printer is currently turned on and when I go to settings/printers it says no printers selected and I cannot select the Star TSP printer. It is no longer showing up and saying No Printer (Station Disabled). Any ideas?

So overall, should you use Square for Android? We recommend using it as an affordable alternative to the common iPad Square point of sale set up. With a number of Android tablets available for under $100, and a wider variety of compatible hardware, using Square with an Android device has more options, and more affordable options, for you to choose from. The Square app is a bit more limited with Android, you can only search within certain screens and items aren’t automatically added to the order the way they are with iOS, but for small businesses, it’s an easy and relatively cheap way to process transactions.
USB receipt printers can be used to print customer receipts, order tickets, and order ticket stubs. USB printers connect to Android devices via a USB OTG (On-The-Go) adaptor. Make sure your device supports USB OTG or USB Host mode.

@ryan1 Thanks for the feedback and I’m sorry to hear you’re going through so much trouble! One of the reasons we don’t replace the cords alone is because often times the cord trouble is caused by a larger problem with the Square Stand itself.

@jfgarancheski @TopJimmy @BlendCoffeeBar, hmm, we have two troubleshooting steps to try: please try to take a payment and close out and restart your app. Also make sure you’re running the most up to date version of the app (sounds like you are, but wanted to mention just in case!) After you try those steps, let us know if you’re still seeing the same error message and we’ll escalate it right away.
I hate being the one to leave a bad review on an item because of a defective unit, but we have had so many problems with not only the printer, but with Star themselves, that I figured it was warranted.
Very practical. I keep it in my car. I print my swim workouts at the last minute before going to the swimming pool. I always dreamt to have a printer in my car. This turned out even more practicle than what I thought
I work as the PC tech at a ski resort with a restaurant upstairs. We recently updated all of our systems, and I replaced the kitchen printer. Since we had all Star receipt printers (work great), I figured I would get the Star kitchen printer over the Epson. The set up was very easy and painless, but the problems we had afterwards were intolerable. The printer would frequently disconnect from our network, making it so sometimes the hostess would place an order, and nothing would print back to the kitchen. As you can imagine, this resulted in food not being prepared when it should have, angry customers, and stressed out employees.

More broadly, what do you want to print from? Most dedicated photo printers can print from a computer over a USB connection, but they’re really meant as standalone devices. Most newer models come with Wi-Fi connectivity. Most print directly from PictBridge cameras and memory cards. (Make sure the printer is compatible with the memory card format you want to use.) Nearly as many models can print from USB thumb drives. A few print from internal memory, but you need to transfer the files to the memory first, so find out what connection you need to use to transfer the photos. Finally, some can connect by Bluetooth to print from smartphones and other Bluetooth devices.
The lightweight SM-S220i is built to handle the stress and bumps of day-to-day use. A belt-clip secures the printer to you or your employees, minimizing the risk of drops. However, the 9-ounce printer can withstand 4-foot drops, so it should hold up to accidents with few issues. A 1-year warranty is standard on the printer, making the Star SM-S220i a smart and reliable mobile printing option.
Buyer beware – not that the product itself is bad, it’s fine HOWEVER they fail (as does Square) to mention that this USB printer cannot be used as a chit printer. SO if you are buying this set up for a restaurant and thought it could be a bar station and print both receipts for the bartender..and bar orders…it can not it does not show up on the Square network only on the specific device it is USB connected to. If you are not using remote printing at all, and just need receipts from one terminal.. it is totally fine.

I think that Square really needs to put in a full effort in documenting your printer support and maintaining that document rather than the slapdash manner this document is managed and with ammended info in seperate threads. It seems like that is really the least that could be done for something so critical.
Well, those are all the best iPhone photo printer devices available in the market right now. Some of them are large and stationary, some are very portable. Some of them are ideal for large pictures, and some are ideal for small pocket sized instant photos. Some of them offer polaroid type pictures, whereas others offer clear digital pictures with bright colors.
With dedicated photo printers, almost any inkjet or thermal dye printer will at least match the output quality you’ll typically see in drugstore prints. ZINK technology is currently limited to printers with either a 2-by-3- or 4-by-6-inch print size, and offers lower-quality output, which is best described as good enough for photos that will wind up in a wallet or behind a refrigerator magnet. Whatever printer you’re considering, be sure to check on the output quality before buying.
This printer is fast and has useable options. I use it with my iPad and Square credit card reader. You can also use it for POS or other systems or configurations. Using it with Square credit card processor I save paper because I only print the customer copy because all the other transaction data is accessed online. And when I tap print on my iPad it starts and completes the printing in just one second. I saw this printer being used at my local drug store with a different setup and it too works well. Give it a try and I think you’ll be glad you did.
