You can’t beat the TM-T88 series of printers. The serial version work great to swap out older nonfunctional models on our Aloha POS that need to be sent off for re-manufacturing (never throw one of these away, they can be rebuilt for $80-$100). Love the modular connection cards, if you need eithernet connection down the road just replace the card in the bottom. Make sure you set the dipswitches correctly to work with whatever POS system you are using. They are located in the bottom of the unit under the small silver panel secured with a phillips head screw.

It is a simple process all I can think is that square gets a percentage of royalties from their supported printer sales and thats why they are locking everything down to these ridiculously overpriced pieces of equipment.
If you want a small and easy to carry receipt printer, this may be it. It weighs less than half a pound. It is easy to carry around. For people who sell at craft shows, farmers markets and historical fairs this may be the receipt printer.
Hi @McNabbGames — I went ahead and combined your thread with another seller’s who had a similar question. I can assure you that we’re always looking into more affordable hardware options for our sellers. As for the technical explanation, from my limited understanding (I’m not an engineer), each printer manufacturer has a specific driver for their hardware, and since manufacturers don’t build printer drivers for Square Point of Sale, we would have to build one for each printer model – which is something we don’t have the bandwidth to do.
Be sure the printer and the iPad are connected to the same network. To confirm this or change your Wi-Fi network, go to the iPad’s Settings and tap “Wi-Fi” located in the left sidebar. Then select the network that the router is broadcasting and click “Connect”.

Really solid receipt printer. Less expensive than 90% of the machines in its class, but it holds its own without an issue. Installation was slightly more involved than other reviewers had let on (it helps to know which port you’re connecting this through), but overall it was still pretty simple to get working. Just make sure that you don’t have an old version of the Epson receipt print driver on your computer, as this can cause the installation to fail.
Just wanted to update this thread with a solution I came across that could work for your multi-page print issue. When you are at your print preview page, there should be a Scale option available (it’s hiding under “More Settings” on Chrome/”More Details” on Safari or Firefox). Reducing the Scale below 100 will reduce the size of the image and you can keep lowering it until it reaches the size you’re looking for.
Product was better than I expected. I needed to place this printer quite a bit away from my POS system so I was looking for a good reliable WiFi printer that could do the job without having to wire the computer and printer together. Setup is not that hard, they provided a manual to set it up various different ways (Ethernet, parallel, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc) and if you’re patient enough, you can set it up on your own. It took me about 1 hour to finish. Definitely worth it.
We had trouble connecting this printer over WiFi, but I contacted support via WhatsApp and an agent connected with me right away (despite a 13-hour time zone difference between us) through TeamViewer and solved our problems. I recommend them for their service.
Great product and great company to work with. I at first ordered the TSP143U which is a USB Printer to work with a Tablet to set up a POS system at my business. Once I got it, I realized that if I had the printer plugged into the tablet there was no additional port to then charge the tablet. I contacted the company and they gladly accepted my return and let me reorder this LAN Printer. I highly recommend this vendor and their product.
The TM-T20II offers the same affordability as the ReadyPrint T20, but with faster printing. The STAR MICRONICS SM-T300I is also a light weight receipt printer. But it’s very durable and rugged. It’s also Apple MFi certified for iOS phone and iPads. It also works with Android and Windows. It’s been tested to take a little bit of beating and is used by people who are outside a lot. Having said that the price is higher than other printers. If you need something rugged, this device may be the one for you. But if you don’t. You will want to look at something else as this device can get expensive. The SM-T300i is easy to use. There is a well written and very detailed user manual. The user manual gives details on how to configure the receipt printer and how to load paper. Here is a link to the Star Micronics SM-T300i User Manual.

Ethernet invoice printers can be used to publish client invoices, order tickets, and also order ticket stubs. Ethernet-interface printers are best for stationary use, and also aren’t designed to be mobile.

Bluetooth printers have an emulation type like most desktop printers, so the receipt format and capabilities of the printer are tied to that emulation. The most popular emulations are Epson emulation and Star Emulation.
So let me get this straight; after I email/text the customer the receipt I should then email it to myself and then print it from my email (after formatting if I like)? Can’t I just print from the app without buying a special credit card printer? Guess not…
The Star Micronics TSP143IIILAN works with Square Payments. Star Micronics is a well known manufacturer of thermal receipt printers. They make many different models. You connect to a Square iPad stand with a USB cable. This receipt printer uses 80 mm width or 3 1/8 inch width thermal paper for the receipts. There is a roll of paper that ships with the receipt printer. An auto cutter mechanism cuts the thermal receipt paper for you when you make a sale.
You can add your logo and text to your receipt. This is done with software that is included with the receipt printer. By adding your logo to your receipts you have a place to advertise your business. You can also put your phone number on your receipt or your website URL. This is a good thing to do if you’re selling at a craft show, fair, farmers market and etc. The customer may not remember your name and may not go online to search for your website. But if you put your website on the receipt you have a better chance of the customers visiting your website to make a purchase.
