Accept every way your customers want to pay with the new Square Reader for contactless and chip—EMV chip cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, other NFC payments, and magstripe cards. The reader connects wirelessly to iOS or Android devices with Bluetooth LE or with USB if you sell with the optional Square Stand. It works exclusively with the free Square Point of Sale app to take care of payments, tipping, inventory, reports, and more. Square Reader for contactless and chip comes with a free Square Reader for magstripe so you can swipe cards the old-fashioned way, too. Pay only 2.75% per swipe, dip, or tap for Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, with no surprise fees. Square sends deposits directly to your bank account in one to two business days—or you can enable Instant Deposit for 1% per deposit to get your money in seconds. Get a Dock for Square Reader to anchor the reader on your countertop and keep it charged all day. Square’s hardware is only approved for use in the country for which it is intended. For example, hardware sold or intended for sale in the United States is not approved for use in Australia, Canada, Japan, or the United Kingdom.
POSGuys.com is here to help you find the right printer for your specific business needs. Call 800.903.6571 for assistance or email sales@POSGuys.com. If you’ve already purchased one of the Square Compatible printers from us and need help with your setup, email support@POSGuys.com.
If your printer doesn’t have any wireless capabilities, you can still convert it by connecting it to a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth print server. Both types cost around $50-$60. As with the printers, a Bluetooth server is easier to set up but has limited range.

Newer Wi-Fi printers offer mobile printing support. You can print from an iPhone or an iPad via Apple’s AirPrint to compatible printers. Mopria-certified printers can print directly from Android devices, and many printer manufacturers and third parties offer apps for printing from iOS, Android, and other devices. Many directly support printing from cloud-based services.
“When we started two years ago, I had a list of about 20 things Square couldn’t do. You don’t know what you need until you’re actually doing it. It couldn’t split checks, it couldn’t distinguish between to-go and in-house orders,” Kulp said. “I was about to leave Square. I talked to them, they asked me for one more chance, and talked about the roadmap. They’ve added 19 of the 20 things I wanted two years ago.”
Square takes a small fee for every transaction. If you swipe a credit card, the fee is 2.75 percent of the total transaction. If you key in the number manually, the fee is 3.5 percent. (The fee hike is because keyed-in cards are inherently less secure, since you’re not swiping an actual card.) Square eliminated its per-transaction fixed fee (which was 15 cents), which makes calculating charges even easier. You’ll see 97.25 cents of every dollar. The fee is comparable to those of competing services like QuickBooks GoPayment, which charges 1.6 to 3.2 percent plus 25 cents depending on your subscription, as well as PayPal and PayAnywhere. For small purchases of only a few dollars, it’s a far better deal since there’s no fixed fee. Keep in mind that none of these readers accept transactions under $1.

The STAR MICRONICS SM-T300I is also a light weight receipt printer. But it’s very durable and rugged. It’s also Apple MFi certified for iOS phone and iPads. It also works with Android and Windows. It’s been tested to take a little bit of beating and is used by people who are outside a lot. Having said that the price is higher than other printers. If you need something rugged, this device may be the one for you. But if you don’t. You will want to look at something else as this device can get expensive. The SM-T300i is easy to use. There is a well written and very detailed user manual. The user manual gives details on how to configure the receipt printer and how to load paper. Here is a link to the Star Micronics SM-T300i User Manual.
Wi-Fi enabled printers have a number of advantages, as once you connect your printer into your home network you can share it with the various devices in your home. It lets you print a business document from your bedroom, print a photo from your smart phone in the lounge, or print a birthday card made by your kids via the tablet in the kitchen.
You bought your notebook for a reason: to be unencumbered. A wireless home network gives you that freedom with 300 feet of coverage. Print from anywhere in the house (or from the backyard, for that matter). Take out the extra step of having to e-mail documents or photos from one computer to another just to print them.
Small in size, the Square Trade contactless reader fits into a pocket or bag for easy transport. Unlike a traditional desktop credit card machine, this reader is lightweight enough to take with you to trade shows and other events so you can take payments where ever you are.

The 5th Generation Replicator can connect to your computer in four different ways. You can use a USB stick, a USB cable, an Ethernet cable, or wirelessly through Wi-Fi. With plug-and-play capabilities, the 5th Generation Replicator is compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux computers.
A related contactless technology is RFID (radio frequency identification). In certain cases, it can be used for applications similar to those of contactless smart cards, such as for electronic toll collection. RFID devices usually do not include writeable memory or microcontroller processing capability as contactless smart cards often do.[dubious – discuss]
I suggest that Square makes available some advice or a list of cheaper Bluetooth printers that customers could consider.  Also, please make the printing of receipts from the Square customer web site easier.

No need for the whole family to fight over the same computer anymore. Every computer on your wireless network can connect to the same printer (instead of having to be physically connected to the printer).
You could be sitting in an Internet café in Sydney, for example, and send some photos to your printer at home, so your family can see what you’ve been up to on your travels. Or you could be at your office a few miles from your house and print out your boarding pass for a flight you have to catch later, so it’s ready for you to pick up when you get home.
If you accept credit card payments from your customers at your place of business, you’ll want a receipt printer. A receipt printer automatically prints a receipt for your customer when they make a purchase.

The Epson TM-U220 impact printer has been a mainstay in kitchen printing and dry cleaners for many years. Available with a variety of interfaces and cutting methods, the TM-U220 is a solid investment.
Using a smart card for mass transit presents a risk for privacy, because such a system enables the mass transit operator (and the authorities) to track the movement of individuals. In Finland, the Data Protection Ombudsman prohibited the transport operator YTV from collecting such information, in spite of YTV’s argument that the owner of the card has the right to get a list of journeys paid with the card. Prior to this, such information was used in the investigation of the Myyrmanni bombing.
